EUNIS 2026: Editor's Preface

Dear readers,

It is our pleasure to present the proceedings of the 32nd Annual EUNIS Congress, hosted on 2 - 4 June 2026 by the West University of Timișoara, Romania.

EUNIS, the European University Information Systems organisation, continues its mission to help member institutions develop their information technology landscape by sharing knowledge, experience, and fostering collaboration. For more information, visit our website at www.eunis.org.

The EUNIS Congress remains a cornerstone event for higher education professionals dedicated to driving digital transformation. The overarching theme for EUNIS 2026 was:

Advancing Freedom in Higher Education: Creating Space for Innovation, Inclusion and Progress.

This theme underscored the congress’s commitment to exploring how digital tools can expand opportunities while upholding the core values of academic autonomy, creativity, and inclusivity.

The programme featured a rich blend of keynote speeches, engaging panel discussions, and parallel sessions, with contributions from experts across Europe and beyond. Beyond the exchange of technical insights, the congress provided a unique platform for attendees to connect, share ideas, and draw inspiration from their peers.

The programme was structured around the following thematic areas:

  • Learning, Teaching, and Research
  • Governance and Policy
  • IT and Infrastructure

Following the recommendations of the Scientific Committee and of the Programme Committee, 22 scientific sessions and 26 short presentations were organised. In addition, invited presentations were given by 5 keynote speakers.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, a selection of 22 papers was made by the Scientific Committee to establish the present proceedings, published in the EasyChair EPiC Series in Computing, indexed by Scopus.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to all the authors and reviewers, as well as the members of the EUNIS 2026 Scientific Committee for their dedication and expertise.

We also extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors, whose generous support enriched the EUNIS 2026 experience for all participants:
